Complete Your First Florio Nature Park Expedition
Your first major course is Florio Nature Park. Use the NEO-ONE to move automatically through the route while aiming the camera at Pokemon and taking multiple photos of useful poses.
- Keep Pokemon large and near the center of the frame.
- Photograph different species instead of spending the whole run on one Pokemon.
- Watch ahead because the NEO-ONE continues moving while you aim.
Understand Professor Mirror's Photo Scoring
After an expedition, choose one photograph of each species for evaluation. Professor Mirror scores photos using factors such as pose, size, direction, placement, other Pokemon, and background.
- A close subject facing the camera usually scores better than a distant one.
- Good framing can improve a photograph even when the Pokemon behavior is common.
- One-star through four-star photos represent different behaviors, not simply photo quality.
Raise Course Research Levels
Submitting photographs awards Expedition Points. Reaching the required total increases that course's Research Level, which can change Pokemon positions, behaviors, interactions, and available opportunities.

- Use Illumina Orbs on both Pokemon and Crystablooms.

Build a stronger Photodex by collecting one-star through four-star behaviors and improving the quality of each photograph. Use different tools and repeated expeditions to reveal uncommon actions.
Each Pokemon can have photographs in four behavior-star categories. The star rating identifies the type or rarity of the behavior captured, while the numerical score measures photographic quality. This means a high-quality one-star photo and a four-star photo are separate collection goals.

New Pokemon Snap Research Levels Guide
Raise each course's Research Level to discover new Pokemon placements, behaviors, routes, and photo opportunities.
Research Levels are tied to individual courses rather than one universal player level. Earning Expedition Points on repeated visits advances a course and changes what can happen there, making revisiting older locations an important part of progression.
1. Complete an Expedition
Travel through a course, photograph Pokemon, and choose your best shots for Professor Mirror to evaluate.
Evaluated expeditions award Expedition Points toward that course's Research Level.
2. Reach Research Level 2
Earn enough Expedition Points on the same course to unlock its next research state.
Pokemon can appear in different positions, perform new behaviors, and create additional interaction opportunities.
3. Advance to Higher Research Levels
Continue improving photographs and revisiting the route to earn more Expedition Points.
Many standard courses progress through multiple numbered levels, with later levels containing rarer encounters and more complex LenTalk opportunities.
4. Unlock Alternate Routes
Use the Scan function and interact with Pokemon or environmental features when alternate-path prompts become available.
Alternate routes expose different sections of a course and can be required for specific Pokemon, requests, and legendary encounters.
5. Progress Through Night and Illumina Courses
Story progress opens additional course variants such as nighttime expeditions and Illumina Spots.
These variants have their own encounters and progression, including Pokemon that cannot be photographed on the standard daytime route.
6. Revisit Earlier Research Levels
After raising a course, select an earlier Research Level from the course menu when a Pokemon or behavior only appears in that version.
You can deliberately target missing Photodex entries and LenTalk Requests without being locked into the newest route state.
7. Push Courses to MAX
Continue collecting Expedition Points after reaching the highest numbered research state available for a course.
MAX serves as a completion milestone while you continue hunting better scores, missing behaviors, and Photodex entries.
